Nazis in Space!

In Hollywood News on May 15, 2009 at 5:56 am

No, it’s not another Lonely Island song/SNL Digital Skit. It’s a real, legitimate movie called Iron Sky. Are you ready for this? You should be.

In 1945, the Nazis went into space.
In 2018, they’re coming back.

Just watch the trailer below.

We’re not sure whether it’s amazing or just plain ridiculous. You decide.

Spring Awakening.

In Hollywood News on April 17, 2009 at 10:29 pm

Hollywood has once again failed us. A few years ago Broadway saw the release of an … interesting, if not absurd, musical called Spring Awakening. It centers of a group of teenagers in late-19th century Austria/Germany who are discovering their sexuality. Now, sounds interesting, except it’s very contemporary. They toss about fuck like it’s a household name, which we’re pretty positive it wasn’t at that time — for example, one musical number is entitled “Totally Fucked.”

Sorry, we digress.

In a recent buy, Hollywood — more specifically Wonderland Sound and Vision (production company behind The OC, Supernatural, and Chuck) for those who don’t know it’s helmed by Joseph “McG” McGinty Nichol — the director of the upcoming Terminator Salvation movie. Personally, we find it to a very interesting choice and could potentially work, but we’re absolutely confused as to how this will appeal to anybody besides the artsy social groups.

Normally we’re not one to promote something, unless it’s on our own behalf and for our own sake, but honestly, we think you should check out How to Talk to Girls. It’s good advice for those shy, little boys who don’t know how to approach girls (or women, if you want to give it a shot), and it’s cute, and written by a nine-year-old boy; well, the point is, supposedly it is a hot commodity and Hollywood bought it up. That’s right, they plan on making it movie. We can only imagine how exactly they plan on executing this. We’ll see who they cast in the roles.

Keep in mind, before you read the news on Yahoo! sometime later, remember you read it first here.

Spread the word.

P.S. Buy the book.

Too many remakes?

In Hollywood News on December 10, 2008 at 7:35 am

12/12/08: Updated to add more remakes.

Yes. Way too many. The problem with Hollywood, and I mean this in the kindest of ways, is that producers seriously need to cut the shit. Quit with the “hot properties” that have you believing that they will automatically pull in box office money. A good movie is not one that guarantees opening weekend bucks. Here’s what I mean:  Read the rest of this entry »
